RECHABITES

The Otago Provincial Council of the Independent Order of Rechabites held its annual meeting In the Y.M.C.A. on Thursday last, when there was a full attendance of delegates from the various tents, including one new delegate. The District Officer, Sis. A. H. Gain, was also present. Various reports were received, including one from the Juvenile Committee, which suggested more combined juvenile meetings similar to the successful one of recent date, and also recommended that Bro. A. T. Mclndoe be appointed provincial superintendent of juvenile tents. The annual balance sheet and report were adopted. The results of the annual competitions were as follows:—Indoor bowls, Hope of Dunedin Tent; Juvenile Efficiency Competition—Valley Tent 191 points. Primrose Tent 190 points. Rising Star Tent 189 points, Crystal Spring Tent 176 points; Primrose Shield, for increased membership, Hope of Valley Tent. It was resolved to send letters of appreciation and admiration of their work to the juvenile superintendents and their assistants. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows:—Prov. Chief Ruler. Bro. R. N. Watson; Prov. Deputy Chief Ruler, Bro. P. Nixon; Prov. Sec. and Trees., Sis. E. K. Gain; Prov. Levlte, Bro Dunn; Prov. Guardian, Bro. Shllcock; Provincial Superintendent of Junior Tents. Bro. A. T. Mclndoe: Provincial Superintendent of Female Members, Sis. M Asher; Prov. Editor, Bro. Watson: delegates to F.S. Council. Bros. Graves and Mclndoe. The Hope of Dunedin Tent held its anniversary as set down on the syllabus, when a delightful programme was featured. The attendance, however, was affected to a marked degree by the absence of members who had enlisted in the military forces.
