MAN’S SKELETON

CLOTHING IDENTIFIED . The skeleton found in a clump of tea-tree on the slopes overlooking Duck Bay, on the Onehunga side of Blockhouse Bay, is believed to be that of Mr Jeffrey Cope, aged 49, a labourer, formerly of 46 Kitchener road, Sandringham, Auckland, who has been missing from his home since September 23, 1939. The police found the initials J. C, on a hatband, and this gave them a clue, while a son has recognised clothing found on the skeleton. A post-mortem examination has been ordered.
