THE FIRST BALLOT STEADY STREAM OF APPEALS (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND, Oct. 6 A steady stream of appeals against being called up by ballot for service with the territorial forces is being received by the Auckland Man-power Committee. When the committee’s offices closed on Saturday the number had reached slightly more than 150, many of which were lodged on the ground of hardship.
