AID FOR FARMERS
CHANGE OF FACTORY SUPPLY PROVISION FOR LOANS (From Our Parliamentary Reporter) WELLINGTON. Oct. 4. "Applications for assistance ot this nature will be dealt with under the Farmers' Loan Emergency Regulations." said the Minister in Charge of State Advances, Mr H. T. Aimstrong, in the House to-day. when replying to a question asked urgently by Mr J. A. Lee (Democratic Labour. Grey Lynn) on behalf of Mr W. E. Barnard (Democratic Labour, Napier) concerning financial aid to farmers who have been lequired to change from creamery to cheese factory supply. " Both the amount of the loan and the terms will be determined by the circumstances of each individual the case defending on the nature of the improvements to be effected, the life of the assets and the resources of the applicants," the Minister said. The Minister had been asked whether there would be free grants and in what terms the loans would be made. It was stated that there was still doubt among many dairy farmers as to the nature and extent of the financial assistance the Government proposed to give.
