AUCKLAND TO SYDNEY AWARUA’S RECORD TIME (Per United Press Association) AUCKLAND. Oct. 3. Record time for the west-bound trip was made by the Tasman Empire Airways flying boat Awaru? on her flight from Auckland to-day. Commanded by Captain Burgess, the Awarua covered the distance in 7 hours 53 minutes, arriving at Sydney at ..55 p.m. New Zealand summer time. She carried 15 passengers. 4001 b of mail, and 2001 b of freight.
