AIR RAID RELIEF
SOUTH DUNEDIN COMMUNITY SING
The “ Whang ” Community Sing, which will terminate a most successful season on Saturday night at His Majesty’s Theatre, is arranging a special programme which should give very bright and unusual entertainment for those fortunate enough to obtain a seat. As all the money raised is going for the London Air Raid Relief Fund Mie appeal should be a popular one. and the committee is looking forward to a record night. The sing will be under the capable Jurisdiction of Mr R. McKenzie, Mr Ernie Fish, song leader, and Mrs Cameron the pianist. The finalists of the children’s talent tests, which were held some time ago, will be commenced at 7 p.m., and the main part of the sing at 8 p.m. The most important attraction will be the appearance of Gran ” of Christchurch. This lady is a tireless worker for any charitable or patriotic cause, and the amount of work that has been done by her more than merits the acknowledgment which will be paid to her on Saturday evening. It is advisable to obtain reservations, now which are free, and the price of admission is Is. The programme will be broadcast by 4VA, and Whangs will be accepted for broadcasting. The box plan is now in the hands of the secretary, and reservations may be obtained from his business premises, Mr W. T. Beveridge, Cargill’s corner.
