WASTE MATERIAL

COLLECTION IN NOVEMBER The organisation of the collection of waste material in the city and Borough of St. Kilda is in the hands of an executive committee appointed by the Otago Provincial Board at its last meeting. The executive committee held a meeting yesterday for the purpose of organising a house-to-house collection on Saturday, November 9. It is hoped that householders will put aside the following metals for this collection: —Copper, copper wire, brass, bronze, gunmetal. aluminium, foil, lead, toothpaste and cosmetic tubes, and zinc. A bumper collection is hoped for in the Dunedin district, and the value of the metals collected is being devoted to the Otago Provincial Patriotic Funds. All services in connection with the appeal and collection will be voluntary.
