SMASH-AND-GRAB RAID
JEWELLERY ROBBERY VALUABLE ARTICLES TAKEN (Per United Press Association) GREYMOUTH, Sept. 27. Watches and rings valued from £250 to £3OO were stolen in a smash-and-grab raid on the jeweller's store of John Tennent, at Mawhere Quay, early this morning. A plate-glass show window was smashed sufficiently to allow of the insertion of an arm to reach trays containing expensive wristlet watches and signet rings. Cheaper articles of jewellery in the window were not touched.
