"MARCH OF TIME" FILMS
♦ CAMERAMAN'S ASSIGNMENT AUSTRALIA AND NEW ZEALAND (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 26. Only a week after a business trip to Mexico from his home in New York. Mr Victor J. Jurgens, a "March of Time" cameraman, reached Auckland by the Honolulu Clipper to-day on his way to Australia. He will fly to Sydney on Saturday by the Tasman Empire Airways' service. Many thousands of miles have been covered by Mr Jurgens on assignments for the 1 organisation with which he is associated and he has made films m various parts of North and South America, Japan, Guam. Hongkong and the Dutch East Indies. With him he had brought equipment for the making of separate documentary films in both New Zealand and Australia, depicting particularly the war effort of the two countries as well as their industrial and commercial life and ■ something of their scenery " I want to try to convey something of the size of Australia," Mr Jurgens said. "The film will also deal with the Navy. Army and Air Force, the major industries and also to some extent with the ordinary life of the people. It is intended to be a record of modern Australia.
