CONCILIATION COUNCIL

BOX WORKERS 1 DISPUTE The commissioner (Mr S. Ritchiei presided over a sitting of the Conciliation Council yesterday when the Otago and Southland cardboard box workers' (female)- industrial dispute was heard Misses J Runciman. F. McLaren, 1 McQueen and R. Moores represented the employees, and the assessors for the employers were Messrs J. R. Luff J. B. Robertson. J Elliott and A S Cookson.

The principal matter in dispute was wages, the present rate of which ranged from 15s to £2 10s per week. After a discussion, a settlement was reached providing for rates ranging from 17s 6d to £2 10s, added to which there will be the cost of living bonus of 5 per cent. Complete agreement was reached on all the other points
