OTAGO LAWN TENNIS CLUB

OPENING DAY The weathei and the attendance were propitious for a good season at the opening on Saturday afternoon of the Otago Lawn Tennis Club The courts were declared open for play by Mr E. G. Boddy (vice-president) in the absence of the president. Mr H S Adams He mentioned that some 20 members of the club are on active service. Sir Jame. Allen who is a life member of the club, made a short speech wishing the players a good season. The pavilion was gay with flowers and bunting, and here afternoon tea the gift of the president was served.

The office-bearers for the new season are as follows:—-President, Mr H S. Adams; vice-presidents—Mrs Lyndon Macassev Mr E. G. Boddy and Dr John Fulton; treasurer, Mr E. G Boddy: secretary Miss Betty Elvidge:' committee—Mrs James Dunlop Misses Pam Miles. Marv Buchanan and Messrs James Ritchie. V Hislop D Smith and Dr Murrav McGeorge. Those present on the opening day were Mesdames Lyndon Macassey. W Lang, David Smith. Walter Hislop, C. Stephens, E, G. Boddy, James Dunlop, Ralph Sleigh: Misses M. Burt. Muriel Easton.
