ARMY QUEEN DANCE

The main feature of the army queen dance in the Town Hall on Saturday night was an "Apple Derby for jockeys. Fifteen jockeys and, their partners competed, and after an interesting contest the winners were found in Mr Jack Richards and his partner. The dance, which was held in aid ot Queen Airini's funds, was a most. enjoyable one from every point of view. Mat De Laney's Radio Rhythmics were in fine form, and the singing of Mr Arthur Waller. Miss Daphne Jordan and Mr James MacFarlane was greatly appreciated by the large crowd of dancers and spectators. During the evening Mrs Dora Smeaton announced that the winning ticket in the night s competition was No. 1061. The prize may be collected at the army queer s headquarters in the Express Company s buildings.
