OTAGO POWER BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Otago Electric Power Board was held yesterday at Milton and was attended by Messrs D. Boyd, chairman, G. Moore, J. B. McGill, W. Cameron, R. H. Michelle, W. Lee. W. C. Arkle. J. R. Copland and T. A. Lowis. Finance The finance report indicated that the receipts for the month amounted to £6185 3s lOd and the expenditure to £7397 Os 2d. Accounts amounting to £1375 7s Id we're passed for payment Reticulation Wanted A deputation representing residents of the Middlemarch district waited on the board to ask that power should be supplied to a number of houses. The secretary. Mr L W Potter, exolained that when the area concerned had originally been canvassed in connection with the Central Otago scheme insufficient guarantees had been available. The settlers were now anxious to obtain power and wished the subject to receive further consideration bv ihe board. Mr McGill and the engineer were appointed to meet the residents concerned and go into the question of guarantees once more. General , The report of the engineer. Mr J. H. Gardiner, outlining the work done during the month bv his department, was adopted. In reply to a letter from Ihe Power Boards' Association it was agreed to support a proposal to hold a conference next Seotember. Mr R. D. Veilch. formerly engineer to the board, extended congratulations to the board on having gained a total of 5000 consumers.
