QUEEN CARNIVAL CAMPAIGN COUNCIL’S DECISION STANDS A decision confirming its previous attitude towards Sunday concerts during the Queen Carnival campaign was reached at a special meeting of the City Council : held last night. * ‘ * , . The council at its ordinary meeting a week previously had declined a request from the Otago Queen Carnival Executive- for permission to hold a concert under the auspices of the Commercial Travellers’ Association in aid of the Navy Queen in the Regent Theatre on Sunday, September 29. The discussion was taken in committee. Tire special meeting last night Was held in response to a request that a deputation from the Queen Carnival Committee should be allowed to place its views on'the subject before the council. After hearing the deputation, the council decided to adhere to its previous decision.
