CROYDON BY-ELECTION GOVERNMENT SUCCESS SYDNEY, Sept. 10. K.. The by-election for the' Croydon seat in the New South Wales Assembly, due to the ex-Premier’s (Mr B. S. Stevens) resignation to contest a Federal seat, resulted in the Government candidate, Mr David Hunter, having a comfortable victory by over 2000 votes over the Official Labour nominee, Mr George Weir.
