AUSTRALIAN AIR FORCE

A DRIVE FOR RECRUITS SPECIALLY-FITTED TRAINS SYDNEY, Sept. 11. (Received Sept. 12, at 1 a.m.) Two specially-fitted recruiting trains will leave Sydney within a few days for a State-wide drive, which will last six months, for Air Force recruits. It is expected that 5000 men will be dealt with by the staffs on board the trains, which will be able to accomplish all the’ work usually done by the metropolitan recruiting' centres. The Melbourne City Council has given £25,000 to the Lord Mayor’s British Bombing Victims’ Fund. The Mayors of the other capital cities of Australia have opened similar funds.
