OUTRAM TOWN BOARD
MONTHLY MEETING The monthly meeting of the Outram Town Board was attended by Messrs D. Ashley (chairman), Hughes, Little, and Watson. , The sum of £5 was granted to the West Taieri Brass Band on its application for assistance to maintain its instruments, in It was decided that copies of the bulletin issued in regard to the reclamation of waste material be distributed to house-
holders and that a collection be made on September 28. The Taieri County Council wrote stating that the bridge in the Outram Glen would be repaired as soon as possible. The chairman reported on the meeting held in Dunedin, when the Minister of National Service (Mr R. Semple) discussed the establishment of the Home Guard. An opinion was received from the Municipal Association solicitor in regard to the powers of local authorities to control and clean private drains.
