NEW OLYMPIC POOL
FINEST IN DOMINION OFFICIAL OPENING CEREMONY (Per United Press Association) - AUCKLAND, Feb. 17. An Olympic swimming pool, considered the finest of its kind in New Zealand or Australia, and constructed by the Newmarket Borough Council, was officially opened this afternoon by the Minister of Internal Affairs (Mr W. E. Parry). Mr Parry sal. 7 the pool was the only one in New Zealand with water of sufficient depth for high diving up to Olympic standard. It is . understood that the New Zealand amateur championships will be held in the pool next year.
