OTAGO ENLISTMENTS TWENTY-NINE ON SATURDAY Another 29 enlistments on Saturday for the special force for service at home or overseas brought the total number of volunteers recruited in Dunedin and Oamaru to 567. A small proportion of these have still to undergo their medical examination, and it is hoped that this will be proceeded with to-day. The recruiting office will be open again this morning from 9 o’clock, and will be open daily until further notice to accept offers of service. Yesterday, officials at the Drill Hall made up some of the leeway on work which has accumulated during the rush of the past week. There were 74 enlistments in Christchurch yesterday for the special military force for service within of beyond New Zealand. This makes the Christchurch total to date 851. MASTERTON ENROLMENTS LARGE PERCENTAGE OF REJECTIONS (Per United Press Association; MASTERTON. Sept. 16. Enrolments to-day in Masterton: in the special military force totalled 190. So far, 136 volunteers have been medically examined, of which number 45 have been rejected, most of them on account of defective teeth. WELLINGTON’S TOTAL OVER 1500 RECRUITS (Per United Press Association; ‘ WELLINGTON, Sept 17.
