LEITH CLUB Under prefect weather conditions, the Leith pack ran from the St. Hilda Bathing Pavilion. The pack, under Captain Pridham, proceeded along the beach to Lawyer’s Head, then over the hill and down to Tomahawk Beach, running crosscountry fo Smaill’s beach. The same country was traversed as far as Tomahawk, then the pack took to the road and proceeded some distance until " Lovers' Lane.” A good straight run home brought the run to a finish, some of the senior runners showing good form. MOHNINGTON CLUB The Mornlngton Club held its second and final sports meeting on Saturday under ideal conditions. To the winner of the most points for handicap placings in these two meetings goes the McLean Challenge Cup. The events decided were the Shot Putt, 220 and 440 Yards Races, and the Hop, Step and Jump. The 220 Yards was run in two heats, the first resulting as follows:' F. Tombs’ 1, I. Templeton 2, A. de Courcy 3. Time,25sec. Second heat: T. Kennedy 1, W. Burrows 2, W. Taylor 3. Time. 25sec. Final: T. Kennedy 1. A. de Courcy 2, W. Burrows and F. Tombs 3. Time, 24 l-ssec. The Hop. Step and Jump was another well-contested event, resulting as fol-, lows: A. de Courcy 1,. L, Bachop 2, A.' Holmes 3. The best jump was made by T. Wallace. The 440 Yards saw the scratch man. T. O. Kennedy, coming through to finish first, with W. Burrows second, and F. Graveson and A. Holmes third and fourth respectively. T. O. Kennedy secured the McLean Cup after being runner-up once or twice previously. The Shot Putt resulted: T. Kennedy and L. Bachop (equal) 1, A. Holmes 3. Best putt, T. Wallace, 28ft 61n.
