THE WEATHER
The weather yesterday was bright and fine except during part of the afternoon, when the sky became cloudy. There was a breeze from the north-west, and the temperature reached a maximum of 74 degrees—nine degrees higher than at any time during the past six months. The barometer was falling in the afternoon. CONDITIONS IN THE NORTH 'Special to Daily Times) AUCKLAND, Sept. 16. The weather was fine to-day with a moderate south-south-west wind. The barometer was steady at 30.15 in. after mid-day. WELLINGTON, Sept. 15. The weather to-day was mild and pleasant with a moderate northerly wind prevailing. The minimum temperature last night was 40.8 degrees and the maximum to-day 58.2 degrees. CHRISTCHURCH. Sept. 15. The weather to-day was delightfulh' fine, with a moderate east-north-east breeze. The maximum temperature was 68.5 degrees. The barometer is falling slowly, and now registers 29.705 inches.
