GRANGE CRICKET CLUB
ANNUAL MEETING The annual meeting of the Grange Cricket Club was held last night, Mr T. H. Elmes presiding over a large attendance, of members. Moving the .adoption of the report and balance sheet the chairman congratulated the club on a highly successful season. The club had entered six teams in the association competition and although none of them had proved winners they had done fairly well. Re expressed confidence in the club's prospects for the coming season and congratulated the committee on returning a favourable balance sheet. The report and balance sheet were adopted. Cranefield, Sports Depot trophy; intermediate bowling, B. Townsend, Mr J. Walker's trophy; second B (No. 1) batting, N. Larkins, Mr W. M. Beal's trophy; second B (No. 1), bowling, O. Hughes, Mr A. Restieaux's trophy; second B (No. 2), batting, F. Powell, Mr O. G. Stevens's trophy; second B (No. 2), bowling, C. Sandom, trophy (anonymous); third bowling, E. Dalton, trophy (anonymous) ; Boys' Association—batting, Payne, season free subscription; bowling, Overton, season free subscription; keenest player, A. B. Galland, Mr C. Bird's cap. GENERAL It was decided that a special minute be prepared recording the excellent manner in which Mr W. A. Rowland had carried out his arduous duties as secretary. It was decided that the delegates be instructed to query at the next meeting of the association the association's action in advancing £2OO of the cricket coach's salary before he had commenced to earn it. The opening date was fixed for October 3. .Following a recommendation from the committee, Mr A. Galland was elected a life-member, of the club.. * The committee extended its heartiest congratulations to Mr C. Elmes. who represented his province and club in the New Zealand team.
