SIR JOHN REED
THE ACTING CHIEF JUSTICE RETIREMENT THIS YEAR (Per United Press Association) WELLINGTON, Sept. 15. The Acting Chief Justice, Sir John Reed, will reach the retiring age at the end of this year. He has been a judge of the Supreme Court since 1921.
There is already much speculation in legal circles his successor. The name of Mr '-a. G. R. Mason (the Attorney-general) is being mentioned, although such an appointment. is regarded as unlikely. - • '
