SWIMMING. AUCKLAND CHAMPIONSHIP'S. TWO RECORDS BROKEN. (Peb United Pbess Association.) AUCKLAND, January II In the Auckland championships to-night Miss Gladys Pidgcon lowered the Australian and New Zealand 220 yards ladies breast-stroke record from 3mm 40seo to smin 35 3-ssec. The previous record was shared by Misses Pidgeon and Ettie Robertson, of Sydney. In the 100 Yards Intermediate Girls Championship, Miss Doris Magee lowered by two-fifths of a second the Dominion record of 69 l-ssec, held by Miss M, Farquhar. , Miss Ena Stockley won the 100 yards ladies’ event in 68sec, after a great race with Miss Farquhar. . A D Adamson was first m the 100 yards men’s event from J. Enwnght and [, Fairgrav (dead heat). Time* 59 2-ssec. A. E. Baird won the 220 yards mens nice in 2min 40scc with ease.
