A MOTORIST’S IDEA.

AID TO CAMPING TOUR. SMALL TRAILER BUILT. (Special to Dail* Times.) f WELLINGTON, January 10. At this time of the year many motorists are doubtless cogitating over the possibilities of a camping tour, but may be de terred from carrying out such a plan by the difficulties that so obviously face the person who believes in a certain amount of comfort with his camping. A Lower Rutt resident was confronted with the problem a few weeks ago, and possessing initiative he at length struck the idea of using a trailer, a light-running pneumatic tired vehicle which his car would pull along behind it, and never know it was there, so a trailer was built—a nice little low cart with a frame-supported canvas cover. This trailer carried half a ton of camp equip ment, consisting of a tent, blankets, pillows, fishing gear, food supplies, old clothes, and old boots, and covered 2000 miles during the last fortnight. “I would never have known it was there,” said the owner, "except that I had to use my second gear a little more than usual. We went right through to Rotorua and from there to Taupo in one day, seeing everything, and from Taupo to Napier in another day. It never gave any trouble. Now others want the loan of it. Trailers for camping are going to come to stay.
