SCOUTS’ JAMBOREE.
SUCCESSFUL FLOWER SALE. The local Boy Scouts’ Association haa decided to hold a big jamboree in January, 1926, which should attract boys not only from various parts of New Zealand, but ajijo from Australia and elsewhere, and ■hundreds of Scouts will doubtless make the Exhibition a good reason for visiting Dunedin at that time. With a view to raising funds to finance the jamboree, a successful “Flower Day was held yesterday, and the following amounts were collected by the various troop committees:—Stock Exchange, £l4 10s 6d; Jacobs's corner, £lB 6s 6d- Dowling street, £ll 18s 9d; Moray place, £2O 4s 2d; Strand corner, £l9 2s lOd; Sptosen’s corner, £l7 5s ]od; St. Andrew street, £SO Is 6d; Gardens, £4 18s lOd; Ravensbonrne, £lO 10s ltd; district stall (evening), £5 18s lid;— total, £152 18a Bd. . , The various stalls in prominent parts of the city made a very bright display, and there was a steady sale throughout the day, the chrysanthemums finding ready purchasers. Large quantities of home-made cakes, jams, pickles, vegetables, etc., were also disposed of. During the evening the sale of flowers was concentrated, at the Dowling street, steps, and brisk business was done for several hours. All the loca. troops participated in the sale, and assisted after school and during the evening.
