MIRACULOUS HEALER.
The little village of Avignonct, near Toulouse, has suddenly become a centre of interest to thousands of incurable invalids in France owing to reports of the wonderful healing powers of Jean Beziet, a local farmer. Since Beziet first discovered his powers nearly six years ago ho lias won a great reputation i n bis locality, hut it is only recently that the general public has heard of him, and now his fame is spreading so rapidly that an average of 100 patients visit him on each of his tri-weekly consulting days. Bcziet’a method is a combination of magnetism and faith healing. First ho breathes with all his power on tho affected part of the patient’s body, continuing this breathing until he is roomentarly exhausted. Then, laying his hands on the spot, he pravs in a ’ loud voice for Divine intervention 4 o effect a duo. On tho testimony of many disinterested witnesses, he has already affected in this way pouio GOOO cures, many of them of cases described as incurable by doctors. Ho began his healing work in curious circumstances in 1910. A woman neighbour had a daughter who was insane, and _ for some reason which sho has never been able to ex-plain tho conviction grew upon her that Beziet could euro tho girl by touching her. Beziet, after hesitation, decided to humour the woman, and did ro with surprising results, for soon after he had laid hands on the girl she became calm, and within a week her reason was restored. The story of the miracle quickly spread, and Beziet successfully treated in similar fashion other cases of insanity, tuberculosis, cancer, deformity. and paralysis. Some of the cures in his register are vouched for by medical men. He is now to submit to tests under the control of a committee of scientists of repute.
