"MOST ATROCIOUS THING.” MR O’SULLIVAN’S STATEMENT. Proas Association—By Telegraph—Copyright LONDON, May 6. Mr O’Sullivan claims that the recent incident was the most atrocious thing that had ever happened in his lifetime. He said he had been attacked publicly without any grounds whatever. After the completion of the sale of his horses he intends to defend himself to his last shilling.— Sydney Sun Cable. . A recent cable stated that there was a sensation at the Thirsk (Yorkshire) races, when it was announced that the Jockey Club stewards had commissioned a veterinary surgeon to take' a sample of saliva from Azimuth, which finished second in the Thirsk Handicap on Friday. The sample was sent to an expert for analysis. Mr O’Sullivan (a New Zealander-, the owner and trainer of Azimuth) declares that there was no sign of anything irregular in the horse’s condition. The horse was never tampered with. The Jockey Club would have to defend its action.
