MEETING AT PALMERSTON NORTH.

(Pee United Press Association.) PALMERSTON N., August 1. A mass meeting of railwaymen was held here to-night. A resolution was passed and forwarded to the Central Executive. It is understood that it is in tho nature of an ultimatum from all branchos of tho service, insisting on a higher rate of remuneration for night work by drivers and firemen and the removal of tho cancellation of holiday passes for men on leave. Tho tone of the meeting was distinctly belligerent.
