LONDON, July 29. (Received Aug. 1, at 7.35 p.m.) A Japanese syndicate has purchased 800,000 acres of land in the upper reaches of the Amazon, suitable for growing su"TLr coffee, and cotton. This is the forerunner of big Japanese colonisation schemes in Peru.—A. and N.Z. Cables.
