BAD TIME AT SEA

STEAMER SHORT OF FUEL. (Per United Press Association.) WELLINGTON, July 31. The Baden-Powell, which arrived last night from New Plymouth, had an exciting trip down the coast. The vessel first had to put into Wanganui through.a shortage of bunker coal, but at that port she was able to obtain only about five tons. After. leaving Wanganui the vessel ran into bad weather, and when off Kapiti Island the master decided to anchor there to pick, up wood on the beach to replenish the bunkers. Another start was made, but when the vessel was off Karori Rock the wood g-ave out. and everything available was burnt to bring the vessel to port.
