EMPIRE THEATRE
A Paramount production, "Tho Bravest Way, featuring the great Japanese actor bessua Kayukawa, is the outstanding attraction m the new progi-amma introduced at tno Empire Theatre yesterday. Living in a western city in are two Japanese—l'amura (Hayakawa), a humble garrtsner, and Wato.na, a trusted clerk in a store in the quarter of tho town, Sam Orson, a Japanese-American clork, who works for his uncle, with whom Matua is also employed, leains that tlie uncte purposes giving Watana a partnership m the business. Watana is murdered on tho very day that his wife, Sat Su, and j m ° arrive in America, and Tamura, although in love with a pretty Japanese girl, Nume, marries Sat Su in order to provide a home for hor. Sat Su falls into illhailili and dies, and Orson's uncle leaves his wealth to Tamura. Oreon, who has been scheming to get his uncle's wealth, is embittered at the turn of events and endeavours to fasten tho guilt of Watana's murder on Tamura, but instead j» himself is arrested, and the story ends happily with the marriage of Tamura and Niune. A strong supporting series of pictures is included in the programme.
