A resolution has been introduced in the House of Representatives demanding that President Wilson shall declare martial law in Washington in order to prevent a recurrence of the race riots. It is declared that the Police Force in the capital city is unable to cope with the situation. The Chaplain of the House of Representatives offered up a praver that the riots may not recur.—A. and N.Z. Cable. OUTBREAK AT CHICAGO. TWO KILLED; FIFTY INJURED. NEW Y'ORK, July 28. (Received July 28, at 8.5 p.m.) Race rioting has broken out at Chicago. Two negroes were killed, and 50 persons, whites and blacks, were injured. The rioters used clubs, knives, arid revolvers. All the city's available police reserves were called out before tile riots were quelled. Some whitest received wounds which will probablv prove fatal.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
