OAKARtr MARKETS. (From Odb Own OounEsroxiigjrr.i OAMARU, July 26. The peace celebrations aoid the restricted railway facilities are accountable for a limita-' tion of bueiness in the grain and produce markets. Farmers are now anxious to sell their wheat, but there are no buyeve under existing conditions, which involve doubt as to when delivery can be obtained Millers, being well stocked, cannot give the required assurance that tho wheat is required for immediate gristing. A parcel of eomewhat damaged fowl wheat was taken at a country station at 5s 6d net. The oats market l4s weakened during the week, and , A grade Gartans changed hands at country stations at 3e.Bd and 3s 9d net and feed Algerians at 3s 3d. No B grade Gortons havo been seen on the market lately. Ryegrass seed has declined in value, and sales of good heavy seed only can be effected. Cowgrass seed, of which there is little offering, is firmer, and sales have been made at country stations at from Is s*d to I" 6?,4 net. Chaff is in request, and is worth £6 net on trucks, but _ the railway authorities decline to carry it, and no business can be done. Potatoes have bounded up in prico during the week, and as stocks in the country aro light a further adva/nce .is probable. Salea havo been made at country stations at £8 5s and £8 net, while to-day £9.net was given for a prime line of Up-to-Dates,, with delivery m Oamaru. _ The stock maxket remains strong, and any hnea of eheep coming forward meet with a ready sale at substantial prices. Prime quality for such deliveries is worth £G per ton. There is still a strong demand for anything like heavy weight eeed, also for well marked Italian. Offerings from farmers, however, are of such dimensions as to be akaopi negligible.
