The Ksmoua, left Lyttelton at 5.30 p.m. on Friday for Weatport, where she will load coal for Wellington. The Ounuird Line steamship Mauretania made a record voyage from Halifax to New Yoik recently; covering the distance in 26 home, which is 12 hours belter than the time of the fastest railway trains. The Maujetania carried 3000 troopa from, Liverpool to Halifax, and landed them in two and a-half Louis. Tho schooner Albert Meyei, which arrived ..at Wellington from San i'rancisco recently, bad a cargo consigned to tie Vacuum Oil Company, including 2000 cases wfined oil, 2000 C&92S engine naphtha, 10,000 cases petrol, 216 caa'je petroleum, rofined. oil, and 2000 bundlee of shingles. Andetseru The To Anau, which, has been undergoing an overhaul at Port Chalmers recently, and which came. up to Dunedin to load, went down to Port Chalmers on Saturday morning for the adjustment of her compasses. Line, it is stated that the Port Victor will not call at Dunedin, aa waa originally" intended, but will discharge the whole portion of her southern cargo at Wellington, where she arrived from iNew York early last week. ■ -a> E R. STEELING- TO VISIT AUCKLAOTD. The well-known six-roasted barquentinc E. K. Sterling, which arrived at Sydney on April 2S with a general curgo from San Francisco, has boen chartered by Lamo and Dawson to •• load a full cargo of coal at Newcastle for Auckland. The E. K. Starling is a sixunrated barquentino wifih a gross tonage of 2577. She was launched in July, 18S3. Her length is SOB.2ft, width 42.9 ft, 'depth 25.1 ft. Her present owenre are the Sailing Shipping Company (E. K. Sterling). Captain It. M. Sterling is in command of the vessel, which is fitted with wireless. She is credited with being the largest sailing vessel afloat. On a- recent trip from Sydney to San Franciaco sho carried a cargo consisting of 11,250 bales of wool? single and double dumped, together with stiffening, consisting of nearly 1300 tons of ?itrome oro, ■and broken stowage of 500 bags of peas and hardwood timber. In addition, owing to her present barquentine rig, eho carried 534 barrels of eoceanut oi] on dock, and a large quantity of lumber. THE PBINZESSIN. The steamer Prinzesstn, which arrived at Wellington recently, w&s laid up at Hamburg when the a-rmdstice was signed , .
