ENTERTAINMENT OF SOLDIERS
A WcH-attended meeting of returned soldiers was held in the Soldiers' Club Room, Y.M.C.A. building, on Thursday night, Mr J. V. Hanna. presiding. Mr Ilanna said ho was pleased to see such a number of returned men present. In stressing the need of a social club for soldiers, ho said he was one of themselves, and had a good idea of what was needed for the social recreation of returned men. During the war tho Y".M.C.A. had done its duty, and now that the men had returned, it still had work to do among them. He was anxious to sco greater social activity among returned soldiers, and it was proposed to hold a social in tho Soldiers' Club Room of the Y.M.C.A. overy week. It was also hoped to establis3i clubs in tho suburbs for the entertainment of men who had returned from tho war. Mr Hanna then gave a brief outline of tho proposed programme to bs carried out bv tho Y.M.C.A. Soldiers' Club. Tho following oommitteo was set up to go into tho matter, of providing suitable entertainment for returned men:—President, Major Fleming; committee—D r S. A Moore, and Mossrs .T. E. Jeffs, A. E. Stevens, J. Dickson, and N. 11. Colquhoun.
