oTho monthly meeting of the committoo of tho Otago A. and P. Society was hold yesterday, and waa attended by Messrs W. Gardinor (president, in tho Edgar C. Hiizblt, K. Jf. Dttthio, J. Ross, J. Macandrow, J. W. Blair, J. Niinmo, T. J. C.ftwn, J. Smiih, Ji. C. Campbell, and T. ■I. Ritolnn. An iiilluoiitial deputation from tho New /.eaJand Manufacturers' Association waited on the committee, and stated that it was intended to hold an exhibition of locally manufactured goods in Dunedin at tho timo of the Summer Show. The proposals were lully explained, and after consideration, it was resolved that tho committee .endeavour to meet tho request of tho Mamtlucturorß Association as far as possible It was resolved that, owing to tho curtailment? of tho t;ain services, the horso show, which was to bo held at tho end oi beptoinbor, bo abandoned for this year. I'or the same reason it was decided not to hold tho proposed buil fair. A letter was received from tho South Island Dairy Association urging, that bull fairs be hold by A. and P. Associations at a suitable timo in each year. Tiie letter was received, tho association to bo advised that tho proposed fair would havo to bo abandoned for this year. Th.9 Otago Education Board wrote in re tho appointment of a, representative to the Technical School by the Otago Employers' Association, and the Otago A. and P. Society. It was resolved that the society support the nomination of Mr George Clark, tho nominee of the Employers' Association. \ The Secretary of the Council of Agriculture wrote advising that the conference had been postponed in tho meantime. Tho Secretary of the Karitane-Harris Hospital wrote offering the thanks of her committee for asKstance given at tho time of the Winter Show.—Received. Mr T. Seaton (of Tinia.ru) wrote returning the cheque sent him for judges' expenses, and asked that it be given as a prize at next show.—lt was resolved to heartily thank Mr Seaton for his generous donation. The Secretary of tho New Zealand Romiiey Marsh Breeders' Association wrote offering champion fiiields for competition in the Romncy classes at tho Summer Show. —Received, the shields to be anoepted with thanks. The New Zealand Jersey Cattle Breeders' Association wroie ottering a gold medal for competition in the Jersey classes at the Summer iilhow under certain conditions.—it was resolved to write to the association asking that the conditions be modified The Secretary of tho Doinedin Ciiamber of Commerce wrote in connection with railway restrictions on seeds and lime, and stated that the Stock Agents' Association had consented to prepare the list required by tho Railway Department.—Received. The Secretary of the West Harbour Rail way League iv.rcte in connection wi&h tne restricted train services.—Received. A letter was read from Mr R. A. S. Cantrell, in re class for three hoggets netting most money for caroase, skin, and fat av the Winter Show, and making suggestions in connection with the matter.—J.'he letter was referred to the Sheep Committee for consideration. Accounts amounting to £203 19s 6d were passed for payment. An expression of appreciation was passed to the exhibtiors of wool at the .recent Winter Show for generously assisting the funds of the society by donating their exhibits, and to Mr George Black for his assistance in connection with the matter. With a view to making satisfactory arrangements between tho Jockey Club and the society for the proposed carnival phow tnd race week in February, the whole question was referred to the surxx>mmitte€ already set up to interview the Jockey Club to go_ Into the qiiestion thoroughly before meeting the Jookey Club Commit-
