EVERYBODY'S THEATRE

The change of programme at Everybody's Theatre, made yesterday, includes a Topical Budget, a Keystone comedy ("The Iceman's Bride ), _ and the Triangle drama' "Society ior bale. lhose who have seen these pictures speak highly of them. The loatW is Society for Sale," in which the chief characters are very ably sustained by William Desmond and Gloria Swanson, both screen of note. The story strikes an original line of thought, and quickly develops. There is the Honourable Billy a young man more conspicuous for following pleasurable pursuits than doing any work. Billy is nevertheless not exactly a malingerer. He becomes financially embarrassed, and receives an offer of monetary assistance' if he will open the gates of society to a girl in a modiste's shop. He accepts tho offer, and before very long succumbs to the girl's attractions—in, short taU s m love with her. In all that happens later Billy proves himself very much a nwn .particularly m the case of th e supposed elopement of the- girl with a man of ill repute. This man turns out to be the girl 5 father. These two have not met for years, and th € girl's object in getting into society is to investigate stories she has heard about her parents before she reveals her identity _to her father. This she succeeds in doing, and finally she and Billy iT?u n ,-5 , most approved fashion. Ihe title of the picture arises from the fact that the girl buys a place in society. The drama is admirably placed before patrons and la made exceedingly interesting. '
