PEACE CELEBRATIONS.
TO THE EDITOB. Sir, It is disappointing to find, amid tho iiarmony that nas prevailed in connection with tho peace celebrations, su«li a usjless and jarring note as tiuit over the inappropriate and needlessly oltensive si"-na-tuns "Cacoefches Loquendi." Surely °adcirosses sucq as those reierred to aro quite as appropriate to the occasion as tiie jokes whit:a find so much favour with "Cacoetiies lioquendi." Wiien it is remembered that the grades of cliildren addressed reached to secondary school pupils, it seems to me altogether fitting tnat addresses of the kind should have been delivered, even if not followed by quite tho youngest children. "Quot homines, tot sententiae." That "C'aooethes Loquendi" (lifters in opinion from the gentlemen rel'errod to, who, ea/Ji in his own district, has done yeoman service in connection with tho peace celebrations, surely does not justify His singularly ungracious letter. —I am, etc.,
Toto Coelo.
