The British army in all theatres numbers 1,200,000. .It will be reduced by a half before 1920 by withdrawals from'the Rhine and France' and reduction of the home establishments. (Received July 22, at 9. p.m.) Senator Pearce 'has asked the Allied Governments to supply a collection of souvenirs of their respective armies for the Australian War Museum. MARSHAL HAIG. LONDON, July 21. (Received July 22, at 9 p.m.) Marshal Haig is recovering from his indisposition.—A. and N.Z. Cable. UNEMPLOYED SOLDIERS' GRIEVANCES. DISTURBANCES AT MANCHESTER. ~ LONDON, July 22. (Received July 22, at 9.45 p.m.) Unemployed soldiers made a demonstration at Manchester. They tore down recruiting posters, especially those referring to the Russian relief force. The demonstrators threaten to march to London and explain to the King their grievances.—A. and N.Z. Cable.
