Press Association —Bv Telegraph—Copyright.

SYDNEY, October 11. (Received Oct. 11, at 10.22 a.m.) A three-and-a-half-year-old child got through the railings guarding the lions' cage in the Zoo. Its grandfather rushed to its rescue, when the lion put his paw through the bars, grabbed the man, and struck him with the other paw, seriously tearing the flesh back, and tried to draw him into the cage. He was rescued from the clutches of the lion with difficulty.
