RESIDENT MAGISTRATE'S COURT. MONDAY, 24th NOVEMBER.

A Riotous Customer.—Benjamin Black was accused—lst—of illegally entering the premises of G; orsre King; 2nd, assaulting the said George King; and 3rd, assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty. Defendant said he got a litt'e gropgy, and was skylarking a bit in King's housj, but he had no intention of insulting or assaulting him. After trial he was found guilty of tiie 2nd and 3rd charges, and fined in £1, or 48 hours imprisonment for a- s uilting King ; and £4, or three weeks imprisonment, for the assault on the police constable. Theft of Bread.—William Johnston was sentenced to four clays imprisonment, with hard labour, for stealing tiiree loaves of bread from the premises of T. W. Purcell, on Sunday.
