MACKAY AND ANOTHER V. CAMPBELL.
( To the Editor of the Daily Times.) Sir, —You will, I hope, kindly please to grant me a favour, which, in my place, you would be expected to value highly for yourself, in your yesterday's issue, your condensed report of the evidence given by ■me on the 27th instant, in the case of Mackay and Another v. Campbell, contains some inaccuracies which convey a meaning different from that of my depositions. Permission to make a few brief.corrections is the favour I seek.
I am represented to have stated that the "defendant said that the ordinary load for a horse on a good road was two tons./ What I stated was that the " defendant said that the ordinary load for the horse on a good road was two tons"—that is, for the horse in question. "The trace mare was put in and took the sledge across easily/ should he, " the trace mare was put in and took the sledge on a bit." " Dowlin.s sent over three horses, a brown, a black; and a bay, :> should be, " a chesnut, a black, and a bay.' Miner slips iii vouv report need scarcely be referred to. Jjy oiiiy a few of jour numerous readers can intervk be'felt in anything aftected by the above brief corrections. In catering for the masses however, kindliness will be expected from you by the units when they fall in your way. Yours respectfully, Donald Mack ay.
