The steamship Omeo arrived at 8 am. from Lyttelton. She reached the Heads ou the previous night, but it wa^too dark and blowing too heavily for a vessel of her siz* 1 to take tlie channel. She brines the unusual number of 120 steerage passengers, induced to visit; Otago by the accounts of new diggings at Dunstan. The ketch Pryde, bound for Waikouaiti. with passengers and .-lores, went as far as the Heads, but, auJiu<r a heavy sea outside and no wind, she lias returned to tbe port in the meantime. Tbe Briik, schooner, for Wellington, still lies at the Heads, wind-bound. A handy little steamboat was brought down by the City of Hobart, and is now beinsr fitted for working by h-n-owner, Mr. A. Keith, junr. If she is possessed of sufficient power, she should be of some «erv^e e m accommodating traffic on the Molyneux, or ?oase of the inland waters of tbe province, but is likely in the meantime to be employed at the port.
