ACCIDENT TO THE ALDINGA.
THR MAILS BUOUGIIT BACK.
Pout 'Chalmers, 1 o'clock a.m. The Guiding Star has just arrived. She brings back with her the mails shipped by the Aldinga. Captain Fraser reports that the Aldinga.- returned to the Bluff on Monday afternoon, leaky. On Sunday morning she touched upon a bank.or reef five miles off Waitaka, 22 miles north of the Bluff,'and after reaching the : Solander, ■ and " getting into a southwesterly swell, Captain M'Lean found her leaking so rapidly that he returned to tbe Bluff. On arrival there, the Aldinga was put upon the bench for the purpose of having the rivets of the injured place repaired, and the mails were transferred to the Guiding Star for transhipment per City of Hobart. The passengers remain on board. Ctiptain Fraser further reports that the Mary Ann has arrived from Melbourne, and the Lady Franklin at Jacob's Kiver, from ilobartown.
