HowaMiktku Dispute Eni>e».—lt will be remembered by our readers that a few weeks ago a. good deal of litigation arose out of a knotty question started about that time on the Mount Greenock Lead, namely, whether the extension of the lead towards Rocky Flat should be conducted on the "block" or " frontage"'system ;■'and' it will be further remembered that Mr. Warden Crespigny decided, on the ground of informality in the notice, against the frontage men. We must confess that we had very little confidence in" the hona fidex of the Mock men, because the major portion of.them had quite enough to do in the claims they held on the developed part of the lead. Having1 this fact in view, we are not surprised to find that the block men have actually abandoned the ground for which they had so heartily contended in the warden's court —even going so far as to threaten an-appeal to the Court of Alines did Mr. Crespigny'decide unfavorably to them. We record this circumstance as perhaps one of the mo-it scandalous things of the kind that ever came under our notice. Twenty-three men were prepared to take up.the ground under the frontage system, wnk without delay, and erect steam .machinery on itif required. To this the block party object; and obtaining a favorable verdict in the warden's court, they eject the frontage men from the ground, ami then coolly abandon it themselves. It, is a pity there is not some way to punish such gratuitous interference with the legitimate workers. -Whether the frontage party will again essay to occupy the ground remaina an open question.— Talbot Leader, July 25
