The ship Vortigern, frora Oamaru, appeared at the Heads thisinornintr, and has since .been towed in by the Samson. The Vortigern sailed from the Heads on Saturday evening for Moeniki, to discharge there her freight'of-sheep from 'Melbourne. Having gone some distance northwards, and the wind setting in from the southward, she was, however, unnblo to reach Moeraki without some delay, and consequently put into Oam.iru to discharge. There w;is a considerahlc swell at that roadstead, but as the proper surf boats were employed, the sheep were landed without loss or imicii difficulty, as many as 1000 being landed the first night. Thi; Vortigi'rn saw no vessels outside or in the course of her passage \i[). She will prob.nbly sni! without comintr to Usi! port. The Warren Godilard's cargo of cattle,-from Norfolk Island, is still undischarged, ns there are dniihts if the importnlioH of stock from that island is not a breach of the ordiniiut'.o. ' hi the meantime, it is understood that the authorities arc buiiig communicated with on the ?ul>ject. The Aldinga, wliich sailed on Tuesday evening, took with her 121 passengers, and, as previously re-, ported, 4,320 ois. of gold.-
