The township of Molyneux, lately established, bids fair to become one oi' the principal seaport towns. It is situate on Ihe mouth of the Molyneux, immediately inside the ISar, so that ships can come up to it after passing through. A Jetty for landing goods is about to bs erected, and steamers and vessels of 150 tons will be able to come close alongside. A Custom House has been established, and the Molyneux town has been declared a port of entry. The navigation of the river is easy. Steamers can get up to within easy access of the older gold fields, and also to the newly reported gold workings at the junction of the Tuapeka River with the Molyneux. Large supplies of coal or-lignite are obtainable in the neighborhood of the river, and the Government coal field is immediately contiguous. Negotiations are pending for placing a steamer on the river, and in time a large amount of goods for the diggings will doubtless be forwarded by this route. Maps can be obtained at Mr. Livingstone's, stationer, Stafford-street; the Police Station, Clutha Ferry. /GOVERNMENT CONTRACTS.—The Govern\JT ment does not in any case bind itselt to accept any tender. The respective tenders must contain the address which, will find thg tenderer by post, and must be written on foolscap paper, in a plain, legible hand, and lodged in the Superintendend's Office, Dunedin, on or before the days' mentioned below. All plans, &c, in connection with Roads and Bridges, .will be seen at the Road Office, and those relating to Public Buildings, at the olfico of Public Buildings, Dunedin ; and if they are to be seen at any other place, it will be notified in the advertisement. CONTRACTORS withdrawing a tender after the the last day of receiving the same will not be allowed to tenner for any Government work, during the six months' immediately following such withdrawal. A good Stable for at least 8 Horses must also be erected. A Plan of the whole !t6 accompany the Tender. Tender to state how much Ground Rent will be paid. . The usual License Fee must be paid for the License to sell Spirits. The Lease will be for one year, bnt will be renewed from year to year, if the House is conducted to the satisfaction of the Government, as respects charges and otherwise. If the Lease is not renewed, however, the property erected with the sanction of the Government will be taken at a valuation. The building must be. erected within two monthsafter the acceptance of the tender, and fifty pounds ihust be lodged with the tender as a guarantee for the fulfilment of the enfi'aEcenient ' SUPREME COURT.
