January 29— Bartholomew Gosnoid, ship, 556 tons, Clark, New Bedford, with 1.100 barrels whale, 200 barrels sperm. January 31—Courser, barque, 327 tons, Hainmet. New Bedford, with 340 barrels sperm; put in for letters, and left for Sydney leaky;' February 7 —Herald, 2nd, ship, 308 tons, little, New Bedford, with 650 barrels sperm. February ;24—Napoleon, ship, 360 tons, Macy, New Bedford, with 1,350 barrels sperm, 35 barrels-whale. Sun,' barque, '184 tons,' Smith, New Bedford, with 250 barrels sperm. February 25—Gay Head, ship, 889 tons,.Lawrence, New Bedford, with 650 barrels ;sperm, 100 barrels whale. February s—The British barque Stately, 565 tons, Wycherly, from Newcastle to California; put in with l)Ss of fore-top-mast, and both top gallant masts; biwsprit and main-top-mast badly sprung.by a whirlwind which, she encountered off the l)ay. Abrived. —February B—James Allen, barque, 355 tons, Van Wyke, New Bedford, with 730 ban-els since -her departure from Mongonui, in March, 1861. - Feb. 2 —Lagoda, ship, 341 tons, Cronston, New Bedford, ••18 months out, with 800 barrels. Feb. 2a—Magnolia, ship, 396 i tons, Pierce, New Bedford, from the Bay.of Islands. Ancther ship, name not then known, entering the heads. . The barque Stephania, 315 tons, - Wetherill, New Bedford, was hanging off and*on the coast taking in onions and potatoes. From accounts just received, the Northern fleet had last year done well^Eoinepfthem taking as many as 1800 barrels,many of tbem 1500 barrels.
