The oysters from Hie Stewart Island beds are'in a better condition this season than ever. So says Mr W. Todd, who received a consignment from that ipuirter this morning. Mr Todd wishes to impress on lovers of this delicacy thai these oysters do not come from the P.luff, but are from beds specially reserved for the retail trade. In order to have the supply as fresh us possible, Mr Todd has arranged for a consignment every .morning, ami urges intending purchasers to shop early, as the stock will necessarily be limited. 075
In our to-day's issue we publish a notice statins; that Kaiiroo Hill clearing sale to be conducted by the National Mortgage and Agency Company of New Zealand (Ltd)., in conjunction with Cuiimoss and LcCrci. (Ltd.),' will take place on Ihe 16th and 17th of March. The stock to be then offered will comprise about 35,000 first - class sheep. 300 head cattle, 50 horses, besides which there will be a largo number of implements and a .[.nullity of furniture and sundries. The Swimming Club's Carnival' has assumed imposing dimensions now, and their afternoon to-morrow should be a most interesting one. Tho Committee has laid itself out to draw up an entertaining pro. gramme; the competitors in the races will include swimmers from Tiinaru and Coraldine, and numerous water sports will bo indulged in. Music will be provided by the Elite Hand.

Mr Liken has been able to procuro a quantity of line tan from Dunedin, and l this is now laid in the yard, and will no doubt be appreciated by farmers and dealers putting horses into these sateyards.
